2009 Ford F350 Review

The 2009 Ford F350 Super Duty offers a Cabela’s FX4 package, which features a unique two-tone paint scheme in five colors: Ebony, Oxford White, Forest Green Metallic, Royal Red Metallic and Silver Metallic. All include Sterling Gray Metallic lower body accents, running boards and wheel lip moldings. Custom mud flaps and Cabela’s badges are also included. The F350’s all-weather floor mats and cloth seats sport the Cabela’s logo; optional Aniline leather seats feature a two-tone, embossed grain design. The interior’s center stack is finished with a dark, Paldeo wood appliqué.

For 2009, Ford also offers more standard equipment items on the various editions. On all XLTs, the company adds tow mirrors, Securilock, and air conditioning as standard. XLT models include privacy glass, heated tow mirrors, remote keyless entry, and integrated trailer brake controller. For FX4 customers standard items include power seats, a SIRIUS® satellite radio, captain’s chairs, power seats, and Powerscope integrated power fold, power-telescoping mirrors. Lariat buyers could look forward to all of the FX4 equipment, plus a power sliding rear window, molded running boards, and heated seats. The Lariat also features SYNC, which is Ford Motor Company’s hands-free, voice-activated entertainment and communication system. This system adds safety, comfort and control.

In the power department, choices are the Power Stroke® Turbodiesel engine, which cranks out 325 horsepower and 570 lb. ft. of torque; the gasoline 5.4 L Triton™ V-8, which puts out 300 horsepower and 365 lb. ft. torque, and a gas 6.8 L, Triton™ V-10, which produces 362 horsepower with 457 lb. ft. torque. The gas motors have multi-port fuel injection and they burn unleaded fuel.

The 2009 F350 has a 144 liter fuel tank, and heavy-duty battery and alternator. Transmission is either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual. F350s are assembled at plants in Kentucky, U.S.A., and in Mexico.
