2003 Ford Super Duty F350 Review  



The 2003 Ford Super Duty F350 received an engine with reduced emissions from previous years, paired with a new transmission and powerplant. Also new for the 2003 F350 was an FX4 Off-Road Package, an XLT Sport Package with new colors for Crew and Super Cabs, and a King Ranch Package for all Crew Cabs. F350 XL trims were also upgraded with standard tailgate lock, inboard armrests, the use of more durable material for the seats, and the option for a vinyl front seat.

The 2003 Ford Super Duty F350 was available in chestnut metallic, arizona beige metallic, estate green metallic, oxford white, and Sonic Blue metallic. Standard features for all 2003 F350s (except for the King Ranch) included a radio, tachometer, and locking pickup truck tailgate. Lariat trims came standard with a body side/cab step or running board, fog lights for rear-wheel drive, and automatic headlights. Standard with all King Ranch models included mud guards, a power trunk lid, tilt steering, CD player, and driver multi-adjustable power seat.

Optional with all F350 pickups included a load bearing exterior rack, pickup truck bed liner, daylight running lights, and cargo area tie downs.

A 5.4L 260hp 16-valve gas engine with 350 ft lbs of torque @ 2500 rpm was standard with all 2003 F350 models except for Crew Cab. The standard engine for all Crew Cab models (except for King Ranch) was a 6.8L 310hp 20-valve gas engine with 425 ft lbs of torque @ 3250 rpm. A 7.3L 250hp 16-valve diesel engine with 505 ft lbs of torque @ 1600 rpm served as the optional engine for all King Ranch models. The other optional engine for 2003 Ford Super Duty F350 pickups was a 6.0L 325hp diesel engine with 560 ft lbs of torque @ 2000 rpm.

A 6-speed manual overdrive transmission was standard with all 2003 Ford Super Duty F350 pickups except for King Ranch models, which had a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The optional transmission for all other 2003 Ford Super Duty F350 was a 5-speed manual overdrive transmission.
