F-150 Will Debut at Detroit Auto Show

There's a whole lot of mystery surrounding the 2014 F-150. The truck is supposed to be getting an over haul for 2014, and yet, there are a bunch of questions that we don't know the answer to yet. Questions like, "What'll it look like?" and "Are they going to build it out of Aluminum?" and of course, "Will it make the Silverado look like a Tonka toy?"

While all of those are good questions, Ford has been pretty tight lipped about the details. We do know that the new truck will be getting improved fuel economy over the current F-150. Rumor has it that it'll actually be 3-mpg more efficient. Official EPA figures aren't actually out yet as the truck is still underwraps, but considering what Ford has said about lightening the F-150 for this year, those numbers seem feasible.

For now though, the F-150 is still second place in the race for fuel efficiency behind the RAM 1500. We'll see how long that stays true. In addition to being much lighter in it's next iteration, there's talk of hybrid model.

Whether or not that'll make it into the 2014 model is still to be determined. Until the reveal later this month, we'll just have to content ourselves with whispers and spy shots.
