2008 Ford F150 Overview

The 2008 Ford F150 introduced a few new features and customizable options. New towing packages, and enhancements have been made to the safety of moving in reverse, as well as the introduction of a few new arrivals to the model line-up.

The 2008 Ford F150 included the option for a factory-installed Cargo Management System to both pull loads and store them safely during transport. The only requirement was that a truck must have a 6.5-ft Styleside box in order to equip the Cargo Management System. The 2008 Ford F150 also included a rear camera system displayed near the rear-view mirror that displayed a view of what was going on near the box whenever the pickup is in reverse. The 2008 Ford F150 Lariat Limited, STX Wheels, Strips Package, and Ford F150 XL SuperCrew were available for 2008, adding to an already impressive selection.

The 2008 Ford F150 also included the option for a remote start system as a factory-installed option. Manual telescoping trailer tow mirrors were an option with 2008 Ford F150 XLT and Lariat chrome packages.

The 2008 Ford F150 was available in basic black, bright red, shadow gray metallic, oxford white, silver metallic, dark blue pearl, stone green, and mahogany on the King Ranch models. Fully factory-equipped with the top towing package, the 2008 F150 had a maximum towing rating of 11,000 pounds and maximum payload capacity of 3,000 pounds. A tire pressure monitoring system was included with the Heavy Duty Package.

The 2008 Ford F150 was available in three different cab choices and box lengths, two unique box styles and five different model types that provided for the biggest selection of body types for a full-sized pickup in the industry.

The standard engine for the rear-wheel drive 2008 Ford F150 XL, XTX and XLT models was a 4.2 L 202 hp V6 engine with 260 ft lbs of torque @ 3750 rpm. Standard in all rear-wheel drive SuperCab and SuperCrew models was a 4.6 L 248 hp V8 engine with 294 ft lbs of torque @ 4000 rpm.
