With the recent fuel prices, I'm perfectly content to keep the tachometer under 22-hundred. When I first got my truck off the lot, it was getting nearly 25 mpg - up hill, down hill, cruise and air - as long as I keep it under 2,200 rpm. Mine is a 1997, 7.1L (or is it7.3?) V8 International diesel, five-speed, two-by, F250HD, extra cab, long bed with an aluminum canopy.
