I was going to contact my guy at Ford to see if I can get it as a kit. I'll let you know what I discover. ___________________________________________________________________ 1991 Mustang LX Coupe 347 : 12.14 493RWHP/582RWTQ Griggs, Wilwood, NOS : 11.64 Hudson Valley 5.0 #00 Poughkeepsie Sports Car Club 924EM http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.snkypete.com 1998 SeaDoo XPLimited - Coffman equipped! 2000 F-350 CrewCab Powerstroke Lariat LE Dually - Superchip Equipped! -----Original Message----- From: superduty-list-bounce [mailto:superduty-list-bounce Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2001 9:15 AM To: superduty-list Subject: [superduty-list] F350 driving/fog lights ---------------------------------------------------------- Support FTE - Check out our store: http://www.motorhaven.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------- I went with a friend yesterday to pick up his 2001 F350 CC 4X4 PSD LB and noticed the 2001's come standard with driving/fog lights on each side of the license plate. Is there a kit from Ford to add these to my 1999.5 F350 ? I looked the mounting brackets over and like the total design. Also when I ordered my 1999 F350 I was under the asumption that keyless entry included the key pad on the front doors, so I did not order the keyless entry, just power locks. Can I just purchase the keyless entry module and plug it into the truck wiring harness without any modifications? ========================================================== To unsubscribe: http://www.ford-trucks.com/mailinglist.html#item3 Please remove this footer when replying. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Mar 2001 09:04:45 -0600 From: Scot Cline <scline Subject: Re: F350 driving/fog lights > From: "Dan Brotzman" <no1windo > Subject: F350 driving/fog lights > Date: Thu, 15 Mar 2001 08:15:05 -0600 > > I went with a friend yesterday to pick up his 2001 F350 CC 4X4 PSD LB and noticed the 2001's come standard with driving/fog lights on each side of the license plate. I installed one on my wife's Mountaineer. It has worked well, and has better range than my factory installed one. They don't plug into the harness, you have to cut a wire or two, and some splices. It is a fairly easy install, except for laying under the cramped dash. As for the fog lights, you can get a kit from Ford, but I hear its pretty pricey (seems like $200 or so). The lights aren't driving lights by any means, and truth be known, they are ok as fog lights, but thats it. I would ride with my friend at night, before spending any money on the kit. You might not want it. ------------------------------ From: "Peter Calabrese" <snkypete Subject: Re: F350 driving/fog lights Date: Thu, 15 Mar 2001 10:10:58 -0500 I was going to check into their wattage and try to find out who the real maker is. If I didn't like them, I was going to get a set of PIAA's since I believe they make a square driving light. I just added two rocker switched next to my ESOF. I found some switches at Radio Shack that really look like they belong (not a cheesy $.99 rocker). If anyone would like a pic and the part numbers, feel free to email me privately. As well as a front grille guard, bug shield, bed liner, wood grain dash, power sliding rear window, weather guards for all the windows, as well as an alarm system Try seeing if your dealer has that FORD accessory catalog. I don't know about the keyless entry thing, as mine was standard on the Lariat. I hope this helps "Until You Have Loved an Animal, a Part of Your Soul Remains Unawakened" 1. My truck has been a bit "off" it's feed lately. It celebrated 100K miles last week, and for a long time it's been a royal pain to start on cool (less than 45 degrees F) mornings. Now it is taking forever to warm up and it has just an ever so slight silvery blue exhaust, especially when it is cold. It sounds about the same as it always has, but fuel economy has dropped from 20-25 mpg to 18-20 mpg - so of that I think is from when I don't plug it in and it takes five minutes to start. Who knows how much diesel I waste cranking it like that. So, what things do I need to consider doing to get this pour beast running at top form. I don't trust the local Ford dealership, so I need to know exactly what things to plan on replacing, which ones I can do myself, and what I'll need to get a mechanic to do - and perhaps the usual charge for the work. I don't mind getting dirty, but I don't want to break my truck either. I've never worked on a diesel before.
