I'm installing a CD Changer. Thanks for any help. Bob ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Nov 2000 23:52:38 +0100 Subject: 4x4 hubs not disengaging? From: Kirk Werner <Kirk My '00 F350 4x4 recently started NOT disengaging properly after being in 4wd Hi. Prior to this, it always worked perfectly: Turn the switch to 4 hi, I'm in. Then turn it off to disengage and it would do so. That's the way the system is supposed to function- no need to back up to disengage the hubs. But the other day I turned a corner on pavement and the front end started to bind and make noises like it was in 4wd. No way, I thought...couldn't be...In fact, I'd only used the system to get my duck boat off a bad ramp and that was 200 miles earlier. After this initial episode, then it was fine. But later that day it did it again. Now it hasn't done this for two days. I'm puzzled. It's going to the dealer Friday for a look, but since I can't get it to duplicate with any regularity, I'm sure they won't find anything. Has anyone else had any strange experiences similar to this?
