There are several threads in the "Upgrade and Aftermarket" forum about
swapping the heavier springs.

will 305 70 16 or 295 75R 16 tires fit under an Excursion?  If so, what are
the best tires.  I will be towing a 7500lb trailer 2-3,000 miles a year and
a pot full of kids the rest of the year.  Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks...

Richard

I have 315/75-16 BF Goodrich AT's on my F250 CC, they rubbed the leaf
springs and inner fenders just a little. It took me about 2 hours to fix the
rubbing. They don't make much more noise over the Firestone 265/75-16's that
came on the truck. The 295's probably wouldn't rub at all! Hope this helps.

Subject: Steeltex Tire Problems?

Hello,
I'm a little worried about the Steeltex tires that are on my 01 Excursion.  I
read a post from Ken Payne that there have been 170 complaints about these
tires.  Do any of you have any updated information?  I think I'm going to
replace these tires and set them aside until this all blows over.  I can't
stand the thought of my family riding on a set of possibly faulty tires.....
