How many miles did the pump have on it? We had an Aerostar with a 3.0 V6

Alot, I don't know, the speedo doesn't work, therefore, the odometer
doesn't. Mine kinda looked like a star too.

For some reason, my truck seems to run out of power when going 50mph or so
at around 2500rpm, It also stalls when idling in neutral it runs at about
950rpm then goes down to about 600rpm then looses power and stalls. this is
the list of new parts;

- -dist. cap & rotor
- -autolite platinum spark plugs
- -autolite wires (8.5 mm)
- -canister fuel filter
- -EGR valve
- -water pump
- -radiator
- -all belts, hoses
- -K&N air filter

I tested the charging system and it is okay, charging at 14.5 volts
good battery. It starts fine and runs for a few minutes then starts to run
funny. I noticed there are what looks like three fuel filters, I replaced
one of them, could it be the other two, or is this related to something
else? The truck sat for a while, leading me to beleive that there are fuel
system problems. It passed the emmisions test in Ohio. It has the 2.9 fuel
injected engine, manual trans

Strangest thing happen to my 87 Ranger with a 2.9 It was sitting in the
driveway idling while I went into the garage it stalled no biggie
right? wrong!!. It wouldn't start again. it cranks over fine. I check to
see if I was getting fuel and I am. but I have no spark at the coil.
There is power going into the coil. I thought the module was bad so I
swapped that out with a brand new one and still no spark I have power
going into the module also according to my volt meter I have the proper
voltage at the coil and module. any ideas where to look now? Im totally
baffled.

First thing I'd do is check the fuel pressure... From what I understand,
one of those "fuel filters" is a high pressure pump and it does fail.

Has anyone tried out the Direct Hits Spark Amplification System? It's made
up of an "attachment" that sits on top of the spark plug.
Would this system help reduce or eliminate knocking/pinging??

All:

I recently added a 3" body lift to my 98 Ranger wOffRoad package. With
this, I had to lose the hooks on the front. Unfortunately, I used these
quite a bit. Anybody know of a decent replacement that will work with the
new bumper height? I tried Reese, but they won't bolt up in the right
direction. I could put the factory hooks back on, but then I will lose the
bumper ferring (which houses the driving lights and looks pretty good, too).
I thought about a front hitch, but don't think I will like the look. Don't
need a $130 mistake. Please advise.
