The more gas I give it the worse it is. I know it is nothing in the engine, because i revved the motor with the clutch pedal in and had no noise. The noise is beginning the bother me. ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Nov 1999 20:31:24 -0500 From: "Karl M. Noah" Subject: FTE Small - '91 Explorer Hatch My '91 Explorer (original owner), for the most part has been pretty flawless and still enjoy driving it although I have my eyes on the Expedition. Anyway, the last thing that I thought would give me trouble has just done that--I can't get the rear hatch open. Has this happened to anybody else? I can open the window and when I try to open the gate, I can hear the hatch releasing, but I can only assume that they are not releasing completely. I'll probably attack the problem this weekend, but any insight/tips on how to tackle it, would be appreciated. The thing that puzzle's me is the only way I can remove the interior panel is with the hatch open :-O. While I'm here, are there known problems with the early Explorer power steering pump and/or gear box in terms of leaky seals? I have a leak and I believe it's coming from the pump (if it were the gear box, I'm taking else where to get it fixed). Most of the fluid leaks directly onto the gear box, however, it has squirted onto the coolant tank and the hood which makes me believe something is giving under pressure. The leak is slow, but I do have to top off the reservoir every other month. I've also noticed that when I turn the steering wheel from side to side, I can see the power steering pulley shaft move slightly in and out. Should it do that? Again, any information would be appreciated. If you could, I'd appreciate if you could email me directly at either Noah.Karl Thanks Karl M.
