I mean, yeah, its a small car with a four banger, but if I make it loud people will think its fast! Anyone know how I could hook up a microphone inside my engine compartment? I'm going to run it through an amp with some subs! People will think I am SOOOO Fast! I'll get all the trashy girls I can deal with! YES! I also went out and got some red spray paint. Red cars are SOOOO much faster than everything else, so I figured that I'd paint my car red. Everyone will look at my car as say to themselves "Hey, he's got a loud red car. He must be fast. It would be a waste of time to race him." Anyone know where I can get some stickers that say things like, "powered by Ferrari?" With those on it my car might go even faster! All joking aside, the fact is that just because your truck is loud doesn't mean its actually fast. It just means that your truck is loud. Most people aren't staring at you with envy when you roll past sounding like you drive a train. . . they're staring because they can't figure out why you would waste your money making your truck loud. Changing the exhaust on a Ranger doesn't change the fact that its a small truck; it only changes the fact that it was a quiet small truck at one time. If you want people to really look, go out and paint your truck bright orange or neon green. At least people can look away then. . . We swapped out the 8" rear for a ford 9", and instralled a locker. Made the brakes really tight and lockable, on all four wheel drum. The 289 would be tuned just right and by this time could we have some fun. We would get going on the three speed speed cruise-o-matic and then let it fly. You could go screaming down the road, and then pull a *sharp* turn, locking up the brakes and whipping the rear around. That could make a screech and a healthy black mark on the road... That was high school fun and we did it. Never any at night, though if I had known where some of the people whom I went to school with lived, I would have been tempted! This week we are replacing the front end of the car, and would like to do a 289 to Windsor swap. The engine swap is far into the future, but the front end work needs to be done ASAP... There is so much play in it that the bright white is dangerous to drive. I'm hoping the steering box isn't shot to heck, but we'll see... Adam Joe Gill wrote: > Adam it sounds pretty good.
