It can only relearn over a small range...
Gutted cats, better exhaust and opening up the intake will all be OK
(should) and within what the EEC can compensate for. It's when you add the
cam etc that you'll need a custom chip to take advantage of the extra
breathing without setting a code. Superchips, Hypertech and a few others
will custom burn a chip to your mods.

Do I need a special tool to pull a bad compressor clutch off my '88
Aerostar? If so, is it called a clutch puller or what? Will a regular gear
puller work?

I've heard the throttle body on older BIIs is larger than the one on the
"newer" ones. Is this true and if so, is it an easy swap?
