After I bought a new 99 Ranger 3.0 Automatic I decided to get a small Travel
trailer about 3000 lbs, now I seem to be a little short on power, If I would
have known I was going to get a trailer I would have ordered the 4.0 engine.
I can't trade in the truck I only have 1700 miles on it so I am trying to
figure out how to get a little more power to pull the trailer. Does anyone
on the list have any ideas. TIA Hans

Today my 98 Ranger with 10000 miles on it stalled. My sister was driving
it at the time it did it. She said it just stalled. So I went to get it and
is started up and ran fine on the way home and has not done it since. Does
anyone know what could be wrong.

I have recently dropped in a new 302 in my Bronco II. I had to use a
starter off a 85 mustang GT (new) because of the size and available space.
It is the smallest i could find that would fit in between the headers and
bellhousing. Now I am having a problem turning the engine over. even with
the plugs out and oil and tranny fluid both in the pistons it is still very
hard to turn over. any ideas? know of a starter with more torque and
power? have any clue how to get tihis thing loosened up any? I can turn it
for about 5 secs. with 1000cca battery and 225A starter and then i have to
wait a couple minutes to keep from burning things up.

To see twhat i have in the engine go here

Hi Brian,

Well, Tuesday the MSd-6 is going into my 2.9 L V6 Bronco 2. After that it is a
new set of 31 x 10.50 BFG A/Ts..... However, I ency your 302! What did you need
to install it, how much did it cost, etc? I would like to keep my 5 speed...
After you get the starter done, would you please take some time and tell me how
you did it?

There's no hurry, my 2.9 doesn't leak or burn any synthetic oil, so I'm in good
shape for now.

Take Care,

Adam

I replaced the entire system on my '88 BII.
The biggest speakers you can fit in the dash are 3.5"
The biggest speakers you can fit in the rear locations are 5"x7"
I put Boston Accoustics all around, and I had to trim some of the rubbery
plastic trim around the rear speakers, but the grilles covered it up so it
didn't matter anyway.

Premium stickers on the backs of the speakers doesn't mean premium sound
system. It is my understanding that the premium system acctually had 6
speakers, with the extra two being in the doors. I did NOT have the premium
system, and my speakers had the same stickers.

Taking the dash off is easy, but there is a catch. In addition to finding
and taking out the screws (I think there are about 6), you need to take the
knob off of your headlight switch to get the opening in the panel around it.
Also, I had to cut away a little of the dash panel itself around where the
head unit of the system goes to get it around my Sony.

The amp in my BII was the compartment identical to and across from the jack
compartment. It's the little pull-out panel by the feet of the person
sitting behind the driver.

Any other questions, let me know. I've been over the whole audio system of
the truck a few times over...

Does any have any info regarding a 4.0 litre swap in a Bronco II? The
2.9 V6 I currently have in my Bronco II doesn't ring my bell anymore,
and I really like the power of the 4.0 in my mom's explorer. Also, will
the 8.8"/Dana 35 axles from an explorer/ranger replace my 7.5"/Dana 28
axles without fabrication?

Brain - goto www.ford ranger. com - they have a 5.0L Ranger message board. I
believe there are
several peopel running Bronco II's.

I'm running a 5.0L EFI in my '89 Ext-a-cab Ranger, best time todate on
motor oalone is 13.71.
I added a NOS kit over the w/e, so I'll have to see what the 75/150/195 HP
shots of NOS takes
from the times.
