Has anybody heard anything about Rhino Exhaust (www.ipchuth.com)? They
are one of the few that make dual rear exit cat-back systems for Rangers.
They are at about $200 including shipping. I am curious about sound (raspy,
throaty, etc.) and durability.

Thanks,
Tony

Has anyone come across a two cell master brake cylinder that I can
replace the one cell on my 56 F100?? I would like to do that for safety
reasons. Thanks R.L. Byrd

Try a Auto Air Conditioning shop. They should be able to make you a hose.

Try an A/C shop. Many of them custom make their hoses to fit. You may be able to get it replaced
for less than the price of the part from a dealer.
With the change over to R134, sometimes it is not even worth it to do work yourself anymore. IMHO

As some of you may know, FTE takes active steps to
combat spam (Junk email). We have the following
measures:

1. for ford-trucks.com email addresses, POP3 login
is required before sending email through our
system.
2. we continually update a database of known spammers
and reject mail from them (13,000 known sources
right now)
3. Where possible, we mangle email addresses on the
web site.

We're pleased to announce that we now have a tool
on the web site (invisible to users) which activates
when an email address harvester hits our site to
try to get email addresses from the web pages. This
tool spits out tens of thousands of bogus email
addresses to the harvester, polluting their database
so badly that it is, in effect, rendered useless.

Also, if you haven't checked out the site in a while,
there is a page which links up to the US TSB/recall
database. You can get TSB and recall information for
Ford trucks and vans all the way back to 1966.

Can anyone help me??? Sometimes my '95 Ranger will act as though the
door is ajar (alarm goes off, interior light stays on), even though both
doors are firmly shut. I really have no clue what's going on with it,
but it's driving me crazy! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Subject: FTE Small - Explorer with engine 'ping' or 'knock'

My wife has a '94 Explorer with 43,.000 miles on it. About a year ago it
developed a pinging or knock when going uphill or under slight acceleration.
We have tried mid and premium fuel with no results. We have taken it to 2
dealers who came up with 2 different diagnosis but still pings. Both dealers
found no codes in the computer.

Dealer#1....Said that the fuel filter was plugged causing a lean mixture
which inturn caused the computer to change the timing to compensate for the
lean mixture...thus the change in timing caused the ping. A new fuel filter
was installed but still no better.

Dealer#2....Got a service bulletin from Ford stating that the ping or
knock in a 4.0 L engine is probably due to a build-up of carbon in the
combustion chamber and that there is nothing that can be done except to try
using injector cleaner to clean out the chambers. Also, it says that nothing
but regular fuel should be used because mid or premium grades can actually
contribute to the build-up problem...Go Figure! And lastly, that it should
be driven above 3000 RPM periodically to help burn the contaminants out.

So far, 4 or 5 tanks of fuel treated with the injector cleaner have been
run through but still it pings. I would appreciate hearing from anyone out
there with any experience with this problem as I'm afraid of doing permanent
damage to the engine. In the 5 years that we have the Explorer, it has been
absolutely trouble free except for this one quirk.
Thanks for any advice,

Ron Sadusky

There is a push-in switch in the door jam by the hinges. Make sure that
the nut hasn't fallen off of it, causing it to fall into the hole. If it is
still positioned in a way such that the door would press it in when closed,
then the switch may be bad. If that checks out, then I wouldn't know where
to look next.

Good luck,

Subject: FTE Small - ADMIN: New FTE caps

Fellow FTE members. Over the past year, I've had MANY
requests from members for Ford Truck Enthusiasts to
produce a baseball cap. We finally bit the bullet and
created one.

The cap is two-tone denim, blue jean colored bill with
khaki colored cap. It has "Ford Truck Enthusiasts"
embroidered on the front and the web address. We decided
that a high quality cap for a couple bucks more that
lasts a long time was better than a cheap cap that
wears out. This cap has an adjustable leather strap
instead of plastic and is made of pre-washed denim.
You'll find a picture of it on the web site plus a
link to purchase it. The picture is lousy since all
I have is a cheapo $70 computer cam but we put a closeup
of the logo and denim on the linked page with the
flatbed scanner so you can a close-up of the logo.

This is a limited item and they are for sale for
$11.75. As many of you know, Ford Truck Enthusiasts
funds its free web site and list services through the
sale of the items listed on our online store. As
always, you are NOT obligated to make a purchase.

Additionally, FTE is working on incentives for Association
Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts club members. Nothing is
carved in stone yet, but we're planning to offer a
discount to club members on ALL decals sold on the
web site. Additionally, we're working with a vendor
to provide a discount for first purchases made by
Association Of Ford Truck Enthusiasts club members.

Now back to our regular program.

you have a door pin switch going bad. it is a common problem that us stereo
shop installers run into. check that and possible loose connection at the
switch when you remove it. this should cure all your headaches

Subject: FTE Small - Speedo error

I am a new proud owner of a dark blue '93 Ranger. 3.01 standard.
extended cab. This is my first Ford since a '54 4-door six w/overdrive
bought in 1961. I drove the wheels off that sedan. I have noticed that
the speedo reads about 70 MPH when I'm going about 63. The truck came
with 14 inch wheels. Could I mount 15 inch wheels on the truck without
major modification? Would that help the speedo error?....
