Quite awhile ago when CD players first came out, the in dash units were too sensitive to vibration compared to the SONY walkman. SONY and many others came out with a device that hooked up in-line with your antenna and allowed you to insert your CD music on a FM frequency. The same device now allows me to insert Taped music from a portable tape player into my premier CD sound system. Much better alternative since I can fit a new tape player in my shirt pocket. Hey y'all, On my 86 Ranger I am having starter problems. When I hit the starter, it starts fine. But then the starter will not let go of the engine until I stomp on the brake, pop the clutch, and hit the starter again. My query is this: is the solenoid to blame? With something like this, I should probably know the answer, but I don't. Nothing new there. Thanx in advance. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 Jan 1999 07:55:02 -0700 From: Dave Armbruster Subject: Re: FTE Small - Car music I have looked into this, BTW. You can get a Ford badged CD changer that will plug right into the harness of the truck, for $600! From what I could tell, the changer is a Clarion, same as you can find at Worst Buy for half that. The exception is that the jacks and pin assignments are not the same, but a few minutes with a soldering iron and the pin-out diagrams can fix that. I'm interested in engine options, differential size, suspension, and general quality impressions. Also, any other details that anyone either likes or dislikes. So far, I believe that in 1990 ABS, 4.0L, and 8.8" differential were introduced. I've also heard that in either '96 or '97 the quality dropped but I'm not sure in what way. I would appreciate any info, even if it's for one year. Thanks, Don == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of small-list-digest V3 #2 ****************************** +- Ford Truck Enthusiasts - Ranger, Explorer, Bronco 2 and Aerostar --+....
