If you use Microsoft or Netscape email software, I strongly recommend that you read these. If you experience a problem with posting and you use Microsoft/Netscape email software and you have not read the FAQ then you are on your own. Microsoft users constitute 99% of my admin headaches because Microsoft products, by default, attach binaries to emails. If at any time you experience a problem posting or receive an error message from our list server, read the FAQ. >From this point forward, I will no longer answer questions which are clearly covered in the FAQ. Last month my wife and I put in 170 hours administering the lists and web site - this is far too much for a simple "part-time" hobby. Subject: FTE Small - Explorers; remove from list You wrote, Todd In that one would have to think that no one knew the answer to your question. try to ask it again. this is a very nice list. I agree completly .Would you rather have no answer or the wrong answer You should check some of the other lists, a question never goes unanswered but there is alarge amouont of misinformation spewed out by the "experts".I'm sure there are alot of people on this list like my self who are fairly knowledgable about things automotive, but we are not Explorer experts. I wish I was a Explorer expert as I own a 91. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Sep 1998 20:31:10 -0400 From: Ken Payne Subject: FTE Small - ADMIN: T-shirt design So far I've had 3 designs sent for the Ford Truck Enthusiasts t-shirt. Next weekend there will be a page with anonymous voting on it. If you're working on a design, please finish it up by the middle of next week and email it to me. I had the crank turned 10 thousands and put in a high volume oil pump since I had to have a remote oil filter. I have a ext-a-cab ranger, and had to move the tranny crossmember forward 3-1/4", for hte mustang t-5 tranny, and I was able to use the stock 2-piece driveshaft. Mind you when I tried to launched at 3000 with slicks, I broke the driveshaft at the tail end of the yoke. Any more questions I'm game to answer :) Daner Racing At 04:42 PM 9/26/98 +0000, Garr&Pam wrote: >most earlier aerostars came with 7.5" rearends with 373 and 410 posi. >but later ones came with 8.8" - so I think the rearend will hold up >either way. >I'm running a 5.0L EFI in my rangaer 410 7.5" and running 14.3's > >What mods have you done to the 5.0? I'm going to implement all your suggestions immediately. I'll be sure to stop by your house and park it in your driveway when I get it finished. Ha ha :) Larry Creeden My public reply--------------------------------------------- Great! I can't wait to yell at the brakes. We'll take it over to San Francisco and drive it down Hyde Street with the cable cars. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I've come up with a clever improvement in the original idea. We've assumed that the larger engine would have to extend rearward, causing all manner of disruption to the controls, heat/AC, and other components. But here's a way to project the motor forward so that the interior can remain stock. Build a large version of a "Nose-with-glasses-assembly," to mount on the front of the Aerostar. The headlights shine through the glasses. The nose neatly provides camouflage for the frontward-extending V8, and can be hinged at the top to provide access. Make sure to include the bushy eyebrows and moustache (these conceal the additional cooling devices required by the V8), to complete the picture. You gotta admit that the Aerostar's slab front is the ugliest puss this side of a Citroen 2cv, without its charm, only rivalled by Amtrak's newest locomotives. By fitting this traditional "face," you will get your V8 power and improve your Aerostar's aesthetics in a single project. Now if you extend a big "cigar" through the grille, you'll look like Groucho Marx coming down the street (add the duck horn to complete the image). And you can rest assured that you have transformed your Aerostar into a powerful fashion statement that's an inspiration to us all. Richard - -- !!
