I picked up the September issue of the Ford Truckin magazine
last night. It has an article about a company that builds a kit to
swap a late model 5.0 from a full size truck and an AOD transmission
from a late model Mustang into a Ranger. It said all you need is the
engine and transmission and the kit contains everything else you
need. Sounds like fun but didn't mention anything about cost.

I'd like to meet up with other Georgia FTE list members Saturary,
Sept 12th. Petersen is having the U.S. Truck Fest at the Atlanta
Motor Speedway from Sept 11-13. Tickets are $15, $5 for children
3-12. If you buy in advance they are $12 and $5, available at
Ticketmaster locations. The Atlanta Motor Speedway is 40-50
miles south of Atlanta.

Everything from custom/classic trucks, 4x4s, truck races, monster
trucks, mudding, you name it, there's a little for everyone - even
a "Kids Extreme Zone." If you want to meet up with other FTE
members, please email me (kpayne ford-trucks.com) and we can work
out the details. If you leave your phone number I'll get in touch
directly - otherwise I'll email you. Peggy, the kids and I plan to
be at the show. Gary Bowling, it sure would be nice to see your
67 again (I'm jealous, I have its picture next to my computer!).

I found this information on Petersen's web site:

Hello all. This was on the AP wires this morning (I work at a TV station)
and I thought I'd pass it along to everyone on the list. It does not
mention Rangers right now, so let's hope it stays that way.

Ford recalling thousands of cars and trucks
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Detroit) -- If there's a Ford in your present there could be a
recall in your future.
Over a-half (m) million cars and pickups will have to go back to
the dealers because of faulty suspension parts.
Owners of 310-thousand 1993 Ford Tauruses and Mercury Sables can
expect to get recall notices. The sedans and station wagons have
springs that could break from cracks and corrosion. That in turn
could damage the tires.
The recall affects 21 states -- mostly in the North -- where
corrosion is more of a problem.
Ford is also recalling some 1997 and '98 pickups. The F-150
four-wheel-drives have springs that can break and hit the fuel
tank.
The F-150 is America's top-selling vehicle.

It doesn't.
I've noticed that a lot of people who write in to this group have several
vehicles. I posted the info for those who also own one of the affected
vehicles in addition to their Ranger, Aerostar or BII.

Have a good weekend everyone. :-)

Well I found out that I don't have an EGR valve (the Head Mechanic confirmed
this).
I've changed out all the sensors in the past but never had the injectors
looked at (also, I put injector cleaner in the fuel every 10K miles). Also,
the fuel pump and regulator are within specs.
>From what I've read in all the '91 Explorer service manuals...the computer
is supposed to make the necessary corrections for pinging(???). I sure hate
to fork out the bucks for one of those!
So, I'll go with the injector cleaning first and keep my fingers crossed.
