I can only speak absolutely, from my experience. I can guess that
1500 lbs. is approximately 1/2 the weight of a Bronco ll. I can guess also
the brakes and short wheel base on the Bronco ll were not designed for
towing. I do know that trailer brakes make a much safer trip.
Please forgive if this seem like a flame. I have driven nearly a
million miles and have see several "light" trailers with no brakes wrapped
around the towing vehicle or maybe the it was the vehicle the towing person
was trying to miss. I have seen boats and trailers in the trees on the side
of the road. With people scratching their heads and wondering "how did that
happen." When the trailer breaks loose, brakes come on automatically. Most
of these could have been prevented by brakes on the trailer.
I myself, was exceptionally lucky that the trailer did not try to
mate with my truck or come around and try to kiss the front end.
John, one more last comment, please I wish to introduce a bit of
levity here, so (-: (-; :-)
But, How much does 1500lbs weigh when trying to stop it at 60 miles per hour?
