Oh yeah, there will be two flip forward seats, but they are attached to the back of the cab, not to the 3rd and 4th doors. If you don't want the seats, they may be deleted. There also will be storage bins attached to the exra doors. The extra doors will be an option to supercabs. I just thought many of you would like to know this info! The transfer case is erratic...sometimes it goes out of four wheel drive without my pressing the 4WD bar...some days it will not even go into 4WD. I plan to replace it with the 13-50 manual shift transfer case. The information in my Haynes and Chilton BII handbooks show it to be straightforward and simple. But I might have trouble adjusting the four speed auto transmission linkage, because I will need to remove the single transmission lever on the floor and replace it with the dual shift lever assembly for both transmission and transfer case. I can get a manual with shift linkage and shift levers for $250. Can anyone give me tips or precautions on doing it myself? I have removed and rebuilt Jeep transmissions and transfer cases, but I have not worked on the BII drive train at all. Ed 98 Ranger SuperCab, torreador red ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Jan 1998 23:49:38 -0500 From: Luke Wells Subject: here's your riceboy I am responding to something thatt was written the other day and many times before. It is on the basing of supposed "rice boys" or "rice trucks". OK I know there are people out there who think their truck or car is fast because they have the following: enlarged tips, chromed out exteriors, stripes, performance stickers, multiple fog lights, etc., but I fall somewhat in that category and do not claim to the speed fame. I have a big tip on my Splash and OK my rims are chrome, but I have never claimed to be fast. I have a 2.3 Liter four banger and know its capabilities, it is slow.I just don't want to conform to the typical look of a sport truck. This is America I like to be different. I don't want to come out sounding angry, I am not, I like to laught at these people and more at myself, I know people have their own opinions and I am stating mine. If you want to categorize trucks go ahead, but I can do the same. I have seen plenty of people do what I have done in a different category. Its those people who put big tires on their trucks, and jack it up about ten feet in the air, and add two angle cut tips dual out the back and think they know how to FWD offroad. If I wanted to be fast I would have bought an SVT Cobra or a Z28, well oh no the 25th anniversary Cam*ro has stripes it must be a burner too. Well thats enough venting, just wanted to be the first to speak up for anybody else who is a "rice boy" because I haven't heard anybody do it before. Thank you for listening. P.S .Where I am from, we call people who think they can off road, and put excessive on their truck, with big excessive tires, and dual angled tips, "rednecks", but I don't like to categorize. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Jan 1998 00:26:24 -0500 From: Ken Payne Subject: Question for the Explorer owners I already have one Ford truck and one Ford car. My wife and I are looking to add another Ford this month or early next month. The Explorer is a definate possibility. How pleased with it are the Explorer owners? Any "gotchas", problems, etc? How well do they hold up? Our 93 Escort has 130,000 miles and it drives like new. The 67 F100 was rebuilt at 265,000 miles and has been going strong ever since. I would hope to have similar success with an Explorer. Ken Payne ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Jan 1998 00:42:51 -0500 From: "Bryce T.
