Ed,
mine is a 97 with the 3.0 litre, auto, 3.73 rear, std cab and short box with
a hard tonneau cover on it. I get only about 14.5 around town and 20.0 or so
on the road. I finally put a road trip on it from Long Island NY to Wilkes
Barre, PA, with lots of hill climbing and got 20.0, but I imagine on the
straight and level, it would do a little better. If you get similar or
better results with your 4 litre, I guess you should not complain. People
here always say that this is not a car, and I agree with them. I love the
truck, but would love it even more if it were more economical on gas.
