10 MPG BOOST? What was the message being replied to? From this post alone, it
sounds like I can take my Ranger from 15.7 MPG, to the equivalent of an Escort
at 25.7.

Please clarify....

Subject: Ranger Sunroof

Just picked up my truck after getting the sunroof installed. I got an oversized
sunroof but in by ASC - Ford's ONLY authorized accessory installer for about
$350. Since I'm leasing and I had this installed on my truck as an option, it
only added a few bucks to my mothly payment. Ford is footing over 50% of it.
Can't beat that deal.

The sunroof is really nice. There really isn't much left to the roof anymore.
There's less that a foot on each side, and maybe 8 inches up front. It tilts
open in three positions, or comes totally out. With it out and all the windows
down, I think I'm better off than a convertible.

It seals really tight, there was no wind noise at all, and it survived the heavy
rain. I do miss the power moonroof that was in my Explorer, but this will
suffice. Now all I need is some sunshine....

If anybody has some of that, send some my way!

Hey, I got an Explorer. Back wiper does the same thing (91 model)
About all the Ranger guys, I also love to read about all the things I
will never
do to or with my Explorer but could. It's the same truck (yes, truck) but
everything
inside stays dry and dust free. Also everyone in my family has their own
door,
if you count the rear hatch.
As far as Explorer only topics, I can't think of any that would not apply
to
Rangers too. Oh yeah, the wiper deal. Wait, here's one: did you get a
pair of
gloves with the jack in the cubby hole or was that just an Eddie Bauer
thing?
I put my pair with the garden tools and replaced them with some real
leather
gloves. What engine did you get? Maybe a SOHC?

Has anybody had any problems with a fan coming apart? Mine has good (bad)

sized cracks between the blades on the hub and I'm wondering how often
they
fail, if ever. This one's 7yrs and 150k+ old and never been touched.
I also saw the title of a Ford service bulletin on "fan roars when first
taking off"
but I don't have access to the rest of the bulletin. My Explorer does
this and if there is an inexpensive fix I would like to do it. thanks
