I brought that think with the SOHC up. This engine has an iron block, aluminium heads, 205 HP. I had ask somebody at Ford engine plant Cologne in what kind of cars the SOHC goes. He said that it goes only in the Explorer not into the Ranger. But I think with the combination of the SOHC and the new 5 speed automatic transmission it isn't necessary to have an V8. But it would be nice. My initial question was about where to mount a CB antenna on my FORD RANGER. After it was installed, I got more info, and continue to do so. Thus the continuation of the posts! The people on this list know more about other things, not just Ford Rangers, and I have found their help very useful. If you want to feel the way you do, should no onet ask about tires, exhaust, window tint, waxes, fuel, or spark plugs because all those can be used on other inferior vehicles, and therefore don't pertain to this list? No, I don't think so. Just because it's your opinion, it doesn't mean we adapt to YOU. The same for me. I'm not expecting anybody to do anything for me. I know that we have the most informative group of Ford-natics here, and that someone knows the answer and/or has experienced the same troubles and that they are willing to help each other. If you have a dislike towards CBs, ignore them. And when I see a post titled "4.0L SOHC" I'll ignore it instead of asking them not to talk about it because it doesn't apply to me and my 2.3L. *Steps down from soap box and proceeds to hack it to shreds so no one else can use it! :) * YIASCA wrote: > CB's Suck, I didn't register on this board for stupid posts (CB,TOYOTA's got > more HP) get a clue people and post about some good stuff or don't post at > all. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Jan 1998 16:02:10 -0500 From: "Lou Guerriero" Subject: Re: fordtrucks-small-digest V2 #18 hahahah.... MAN, THIS THING GOES! (We previously had a 95 Ranger X-cab w/ the 4.0 V-6.) Passing gear on freeway ramps is like lighting an afterburner, and it gets 18-21 MPG on the highway. We love it. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Jan 1998 21:01:52 -0500 From: Luke Wells Subject: tooooo sweeeett!!! You wanna see what a real ranger should look like? Check out this months "Truckin" magazine the last story is a 97 extended cab yellow splash with a 5.0 V-8 mustang cobra engine with a super charger, i don't have all the stats but it pushes out around 385 horses, it has the silver mustang cobra r wheels, all around disc brakes, a cobra shifter, a 3" 4" drop, and some smooth as hell replacement ford emblems, check out the engine cover that has Ranger 5.0 instead of mustang 5.0, and the side ....
