I believe the SOHC 4.0 was available at the start of the 97 model year. It
was withdrawn from the Ranger later in the year to meet the demand for
Explorer/Mountaineer engines.

I signed on to this list serve to learn and exchange ideas about FORD trucks,
not he hear about how much horsepower a Toyota has.
