From: Ken Payne
Subject: ADMIN: Aerostar vote

The vote to allow Aerostars on the small truck discussion
list has expired. The results:

Yes 56% - 29 votes
No 41% - 21 votes
Don't Care 1% - 1 vote

Aerostar discussion will now be allowed on the list.
Participation, as a percentage of the list members, was
good. Thanks!

Before anyone jumps ship, I will state for the record
that if Aerostar discussion significantly changes the
character of this list it ***will be disallowed***.
In other words, if we start seeing many "what's the best
way to fit a soccer team in the van" posts then Aerostar
discussion will be removed from the charter.

Although the vote was in favor of Aerostar discussion,
I received many comments concerning what it could do
to the lists. This is why I'm reserving the right to
disallow it in the future. I only hope the CoAdministrator
(my wife) doesn't feel differently (she drives an
Aerostar!!!)......

Are there any readily available tow hitches for 98 Rangers (besides the
factory one)? Are 97 hitches compatible?

They fit my '97 4X4 STX... it came out of the box wearing them.

One of my son's soccer team-mates spilled ice cream on the way back

stain out? How about gum on the headliner?

hi,
i got a 96 2.3 and as far as increasing the power goes, I removed the air
baffle located behind the air cleaner(a large black oval plastic tube) and
replaced it with a piece of 12" long 4" dia. galvanized steel tube. I also
remoed the feed tube from in front of the air cleaner that extends into the
passenger side wheel well. This has given me enough power to atleast stay
with a 6 cyl and even romp on some of the full size trucks in street
racing.(as long as they aren't hopped up) This also increased my gas mileage
by about 60+ mpg because of the increased airn flow. Also the engine
runssmoother at hwy speed and idle's smoother.

as far as speakers go I have a sigle bow that mounts two 8" speakers and I am
fixin to build a box for 1 10". It can be done and you dont have to pay for
it out the corn hole. if you want i can get you the formula to figure out the
dimesions of the box. good luck jeff in dallas

Black Magic fan gave me a good 3 to 5 hp. A 4.10 final drive ratio is
also a good start.

Yep, you're right... My '88 STX came with the "High Rider" package which
included a 1.5 inch lift. It's a shortbed. I don't remember what the stock
tire size was, but I replaced them with 31x10.50 BFG All-Terrains on the
stock rims. These worked & fit great. While wheeling they did not contact
the front fenders at all and at extreme "stuff" the 31's just kissed the
front of the rear driver's side fender (never the passanger side). I ran
those tires for 80,000 miles before moving up to 35's. Great tire!

Later... Pete
