The charter message left it out by accident and has since been updated. The only way there'll be talk about the Explorer is if the owners speak up. Many of the Ranger/Bronco 2 folks have been on the lists for a long time so they're more comfortable with bringing up topics. The Explorer discussion will pick up. This list, like our other lists, will take a couple of weeks before the discussion really gets going. I'm going to re-announce the list on the Explorer newsgroup again this evening. So far there's been 1 Explorer topic. Once 2 or 3 vocal Explorer owners start posting it will snowball. The pully is mounted to the shaft with one 22mm bolt. When I try to remove it, it rotates the crank. It's a fuel injected 88 model. Is there a special puller I can get? Does any one know if there is an aftermarket option for a third seat in a '92 explorer. Even something like the old station wagons that faces backwards. My neighbor had a recent edition to the family this christmas, and space is getting tight! Are there any legal issues w/ fabricating your own???? Nathan L. Is there a >special puller >I can get? > >Thanks > >Sam >+--------- The pully should have two holes in a ring around the bolt. These are for a puller. You might be able to rent one, I have rented specialty pullers from AutoZone. I race this motor in a dirt stock car (Mustang) and they are very easy to work on once you get past all the asscesories, well easy for me anyway. Don't go prying on the pully unless you want to chance breaking the aluminium front cover. And dont ever try to pull one by pulling on the outside by the groves. Makes one look like a taco shell. Are you just changing the timing belt? There is an aftermarket adjustable cam gear if you want to be able to play with the cam timing, advance for some more horsepower, retard for some more torque. Post any more questions or just how it turned out.
