I think the 203 is cast iron too but it's full time so your's is probably the 205. It's marked right on the case in big numbers. Where did you find 27.5" agressive tires like that? Are the special for pulling? Sounds like the late 70's vintage wide ratio gear set. I have this in my 78 Pu and it's like running low rear gears as you say but still get the good top end with the 2.75's. Do you have the 5 plate low gear clutch pak? Couple of thoughts... do you have any problems with reverse? If not, then it is probably either the vacuum modulator out of adjustment or defective (they do go bad) or a problem with the valve body. Had same problem with 73 Ranchero 428SCJ with C6 and there was a piece of grit in the valve body in one of the fluid valves. Reccommend extreme caution if you haven't disassembled valve bodies before. There are spring loaded check-balls inside that sometimes head for the North Forty when you take the cover off. Had to go to Ford dealer after the first one I did to see a blowup of the valve body to see where everything went back together. Anyway good luck. Hope this helps. Sounds like the instrument light rheostat on your light switch is bad- replace it or you may have a resistive ground on your instrument panel light circuit . As for the dash plasic, take it out and clean it. If what's fogging it up doesn't come off, it's probably sun damage and will have to be replaced. Had to go to Ford There are 4 as I recall and every dang hole and slot looks like where they go. Trouble is there's a lot more slots and holes than check balls :-( I have a 79 Petersons with a beautiful pictorial, step by step rebuild section on the C-6. The rebuild seal kit comes with a schematic showing where they go too as I recall but don't take it apart without a schematic or you are a cooked goose! I remember them as just lying in there with no springs involved but they are plastic and just fall right out on the floor (at least if you don't know they're in there like me) :-) The swift of foot and slow of wit have more off road experiences - -- Gary -- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Sep 1997 19:03:51 -0400 (EDT) From: Claypaul Subject: Re: the brady bunch 9" differential my god, man! get a life.....:-) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Sep 1997 18:46:32 -0500 From: "Dale and Donna Carmine" Subject: Synthetic Oil List Guys & Gals, Just got back from Wal-Mart. While there I was looking at the synthetic motor oils, I have never used them but I am considering it now. My question is; Why the difference in price? Mobil 1, Quaker State, and Castrol are all $4/qt., Pennzoil Performax is $3/qt. . These are all 100% synthetic oils, not blends. Is the Pennzoil product the equivalent of the others? Are synthetics worth the cost? I'm getting good engine life with good old petro based oil but hope to improve fuel economy and stretch the time between oil changes. Are these realistic goals?
