It basically comes down to the control arm on the column and what options it originally had in the vehicle. If you have the data at a minimum I could get an exploded drawing of the column form my local Chevrolet dealer (happens to be the 4th largest seller of GM parts in the US and is the most helpful parts dealer I have ever dealt with, though they still have not convinced me to swap my 302 for a 350 ;-)). Having taken several of these apart from several years of models there are some basic similarities and significant differences. They did change in some way almost every year. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Jan 2001 18:51:26 -0800 From: William Hendrickson <billjhs Subject: Speedo gears Hello, I just purchased a 53 flatbed with a three speed tranny, the rear was changed to a late model one, but now the speedo is wrong.(40mph is really 60mph). Does any know of a vendor that sells gears for the tranny? The guy I purchased it from had thrown in a floor shift. I am restoring stock and am having a devil of a time with trying to find the lever. Any help, as usual, would be greatly appreciated. Too many toys. The original flat head runs well it got a complete overhaul about 1000 miles ago. The truck has fiberglass front fenders, has been converted to 12 volt, has a new clutch and resurfaced fly wheel. It is a runner, but is definitely a project. I am willing to sell it for only $2000.00 first one with cash takes away my baby.
