I have had no problem with them. I have a '53 with a TCI coil-over shock front suspension and rack and pinion steering, so there is no steering box to worry about. The headers are above the starter on the right side, so there is no heat problem. I bought mine uncoated and used a black high temp ceramic paint to coat them. That works fine, not as pretty as jet coat but cheaper. In cleaning out my garage, I came across a custom speedometer cable for a C6(or C4, FMX, and others) to a '53 F100 speedometer. I used it briefly until my stock speedometer quit. At that point I went to a custom dash plate and a VDO electronic speedometer. It is worth about $38.00. Make an offer!
