In the middle of rebuilding my '51 6cy. 226 and the camshaft busted right behind the camgear. Cannot locate one anywhere, have tried kanter, eggers, sac, macs, carpenter, et. al. Wondering if anyone on the list knows of a block sitting around of that vintage or another supplier where it might be found. Can find every other part for the engine it seems except the elusive camshaft. I heard that someone on this list named Scott new somebody with a block, if anyone remembers that list or Scott if you reading this please email me. Thanks, Doug ------------------------------ From: JDay2536 Date: Thu, 16 Nov 2000 16:46:35 EST Subject: Thanks Thanks for all the good info. It seems everyone who owns one of these trucks has some experience with rusty fenders. I didn't realize that steel patch panels were available for the area around the headlights, which is the area I was most troubled with. I think that I will check out the "patch panel" route before I begin to shop for replacements since that is maybe something I can do myself. I have owned this truck for more than 18 years and while the work was all fresh when I got it, the bloom is now off the rose, and she is starting to look pretty dilapidated (sic?).
