Subject: throttle pedal

I am trying to hook up a Lokar braided throttle cable on my 55 F-100,

Charlie:  I don't know your application, but here is what I did:

I cut the throttle lever at the pivot point inside the firewall (in the
engine compartment).  Then I welded a donor piece from a Mustang throttle
lever to the orginal lever on the inside of the cab.  This allowed me to use
it to 'pull' the cable, in similar fashion to the '92 Mustang engine donor
car, and the pedal mounts in the original location.  I drilled three holes,
one for the cable housing, and two for its screws.  It works very well.

Then I installed a Lokar kickdown cable for the C4 at the throttle body.
Only modification there was shortening the mounting bolt at the throttle
body.  Sorry, no pictures yet..all available funds are going to Mid_fifty
and other vendors to get the truck on the road.  Digital camera will have to
wait.

Charlie,
I also used the Lokar braided throttle cable. I attached it to the
original pedal linkage which is on the exterior of the firewall. All you need
to do is have a stationary bracket mounted somewhere between the carburetor
and the pedal linkage. I fabricated a small stationay bracket which hooks to
the rear of the intake.
