Do you know what the Speedo needle/stem assembly is made of? (ie: Aluminum,
brass, etc.) If it's painted brass or something similar, a new (repro.) one
could probably be fabricated, although I'm not familiar with what one from a
50 looks like.

I've noticed that the hood doesn't seem to raise as high on my 50 as the 51.
Does anyone know what the difference is?   I was thinking of using 51 hinges on the 50.

Subject: '50 F-1 Wiper Motor oil

Hey guys,.. I have been putting some time into my ol' F-1 and took off
the wiper motor and took the thing apart to clean.  I found that it was
a pneumatic unit with some sort of oil within.  Anyone know what was
used in the wiper chamber?

Subject: Re  speedommeter repair

   hello i just found out about this and thought of you guys having the same
problem my 17 month old son just pulled the needles off of my gauges on my 60
ford F-250 there is a place listed in the custom truck magazine called united
speedometer service in riverside ca that can fix any gauge it's 125 to
calibrate it and  60 for other gauges in the cluster hope this helps
