If any of you know where I could get one, please let me know. Also, is the company "SoCal," still in business? I heard that it was the best place to buy parts from. Thanks Jason Maples 55 F-100 == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 09:09:22 -0500 From: Abe Stauffer Subject: FTE Pre61 - radials I got radials on my F-100 last week and they are great. I kept the 16" rims that came on my '54. The closest tires we could find to match the original 6.50x16 were 215-85-16. They are a close match. They are a bit wider and just a hair taller. I got Delta's. The tread looks almost like a period bias ply tread. The ride is greatly improved. The old truck now takes RR tracks better than our family Plymouth Voyager. It corners better, steers easier, and I get better traction on wet roads than I did with the old "snow tires/mud grippers" on the back end. The only down side I have right now is I have to make sure the pressure is up in the front or turning the wheel while backing or parking is "tough". But like I told my 7 year old son "the hard turning keeps my arms in shape". Abe, that's 'Armstrong Power Steering.' == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2000 21:11:55 -0500 From: Paul Subject: FTE Pre61 - Back Bumper Ref 53/56 back bumpers, I was looking for all the dimensions for where the bumpers mount to the brackets; side to side, top to bottom, etc. In other words I was trying to determine if ALL the bolt holes are in the same places in both the pickup and panel back bumpers. If I would have to guess, I would say they would be, but you never know. Too cold to check in the junkyard....thanks in advance! I've heard that P235-75R15 on late 60's rims works best. Do you know if there are any radial tires out there with wide white sidewalls out there?
