I did the same but from a ch*vy, a early 90's vehicle. I think the wench
unit is sold to many vehicle manufactures, it wasn't stamped "Ch*vy" on it,
some other manufacture name. I ended up putting two pieces of angle iron in
it (I think), one to be the second half of the piece it needs to bolt to,
and one to keep the tire sturdier. I cut the rod you turn off, and when I
get the bed and bumper on I'll weld a long bolt into it (the same size as
the lug nut) so I can use the tire iron to lower it.
If you wish I can e-mail you some pictures tonight, the bed isn't on yet.

Does anyone have a Monroe or Gabriel part number for a gas charged rear
shock for a '53 F100 (or the compressed/extended lengths)? I've flipped the
axle to ride over the springs, but the springs still have the same arc and
the hanger is in the same place (below the springs), so I presume the
original dimensions are what I need to go back with.
Thanks,
Bob

I would think the SVO 514 Cubic Inch 600 HP Ford crate motor should solve
any Ch*vy envy. I don't know anybody that's used one, but it sure looks
good on paper. Love to replace my 429 with it.

I think that those are great questions. I second the 427/429 question.

Hello

At the end of this month, I will be the new owner of a 55 F-100. My neighbor
and I are doing some trading, in order for me to get this sharp truck. It
has had a complete frame off restoration and he has customized it up a
little, but I wouldn't call it a hot rod. Anyway, I hope to be very active
on this list and I've already made plans to attend the F-100 Supernationals
in Pigeon Forge, in May, so maybe I'll meet some of you up there.

Subject: FTE Pre61 - What year?

Guys I have a question that I am sure someone can help me with. I have a 38
1/2 ton pickup that I have not yet found out what year the motor is.
It is a v8 flathead and I have looked on the internet at the flathead v8
identification chart and it appear to only list car motors, however I'm not
sure. The engine has these numbers on the non-removable bellhousing ; on
the top of housing K774 , below the K774 is a large number 59 , and on the
top of the transmission is the numbers 4717202. Any and all help will be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken L.

I bought a pair of used front brake drums for my '50 F3 from
French Lick Auto, a salvage yard, 320-274-8497. Other than some
rust on the outside, the drums are in good shape (enough metal
to safely turn them). If you have your heart set on brand
new drums, give Joblot Automotive (800-221-0172 or 718-468-8585)
or Little Dearborn Parts Company (888-282-2066 or 612-331-2066)
a try. They did not have any in stock when I was looking, but might
now...
