Last time I checked, all Sears "automatic' chargers with a 6V/12V switch
were automatic on 12V only. Check carefully before you assume otherwise.

Jeff, I am sure I am speaking for most of the people on the list. How sad it
must be to start a family and find out that one of your boys (clearing throat
and wiping tears from eyes) doesn't have an interest in vehicles. Many years
ago this happened to a relative of mine. The whole family got together and
decided therapy was in order. Sad to say it didn't help. We think now and
so does the medical profession, that they are born that way. It is something
missing in their genes and DNA. My relatives decided to put him in a home.
Last we heard the boy had interests in biology and living things. Geeez. He
is now in a large town working as a brain surgeon, surely to avoid running
into anyone from his old life. We will all pray for your 2nd son, it
probably won't help, but we will pray just the same. I have heard there are
some boys out there that even like girls more than vehicles. Can you imagine?

This seems like a good time to confess. Our son has come out of the closet.
Yes.. it's true.. We also have a son who isn't interested in... GASP... old
cars..
He doesn't want to drive the 41 Ford.. he doesn't want to cruise in front of
the high school in the 66 Mustang.. We are so ashamed, yet, we still love
him as much as our Daughter, who by the way, helped her Dad with his Ground
up Restoration.
I am glad to read about your cousin though.. although, I don't see Brain
surgeon in his future. For some reason he want's to be a stand up Comic..
Maybe WE will have to move away!!! I must say though, I am NOT giving up
hope that he will come around. I blame it on Nintendo and Sega Playstation.
Had they produced more "Auto Rebuild" games.. instead of "smash em'up"
games.. maybe my son could have been saved.
Please include Us in your prayers,

I started teaching my son how to read a tape measure and the difference
between a ratchet an open end wrench when he was 2 years old! The plan was,
we were going to build his first car together. I don't know where I messed
up! When he got to be about 13 years old something strange happened to him.
All of a sudden he got interested in girls and didn't care in the least that
I wanted to build a street rod. I don't remember having that problem when I
was his age.
He has long since gone(22 years old and on his own) and I'm building that
street rod. Well guess what,,,,, when he comes to visit, he wants to spend
all his time on the truck. I found out that there is nothing wrong with him
at all ! He just got brainwashed at an early age. Sooo If your son has no
interest in vehicles now, just wait a few years. Theay get real smart real
quick. I think it's just cuz theay think that they are gonna get to look
cool while they are drivin their dads iron around.
My experience,

I've been trying to track down door/ignition lock and
key sets for my 49 effie without much luck. Seems
there are some available for 53-56 but not for the
48-50 trucks. Anyone adapted a 53-56 door/ignition
lock and key sets to a 48-52 effie?

Roger,
I think you got your answer, but just wanted to add that the AERA book
shows the EDB plain, no suffix, as 56-60 312 and 55-59 292. The EDB-E
shows as 60-64 292. so it goes,
Red
