I need to take out my heater to put in an under dash pad. I want to paint it and perhaps add new seals, etc. Any thing I should do or not do? Any tips for painting. Should I avoid painting the heater core fins? I have a standard recirc. heater, not the Magic Aire kind. I have one in a vehicle. . When the late 70's fuel crunch sent Ford looking for a quick OD trans they resurrected the Top Loader, but with a couple of twists. A new set of gears made 4th an OD, and an aluminum case w/ an integral shifter mounted next to the tailshaft made for slicker shifts. Some people refer to them as "Mexican Overdrives" because they were assembled in Mexico. In the mid 80's they improved the tranny with bigger bearings and moved the shifter into the top cover. These are supposedly the toughest of the bunch, and the shifter location might be better suited to your application. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Nov 1999 12:54:37 EST From: JDay2536 Subject: FTE Pre61 - Hood emblem '48 F-1 I am looking for a hood emblem (mine fell off & was lost) for a '48 F-1. Nothing wrong with it, but just a different class. Some day, when they can get a man to live with a babboon's heart, he might still be a man, or, then again, he might be part babboon. Any company who designs a motor from scratch with the distributor on the wrong end.....I'm surprised they didn't figure a way to get the water pump back there too, to make it a total disaster! As you may know, we take measures to fight spam and protect email addresses, including, but not limited to, use of a robots.txt exclusion file, POP before sendmail confirmation, subscription confirmation for the discussion groups and blocking web access to known email harvesting sites. However, even with all these measures, there is nothing that can be done against a spammer who subscribes, confirms the subscription and then spam. The spammer has been blocked from the lists so they cannot post again. We have, however, not unsubscribed them. This means they cannot unsubsribe and will have to find a way to deal with the 100s of emails the live lists sends out. Please do not make the problem worse by posting about it here, the issue has been resolved. I strongly urge you to send email the spammers TRUE email address at ldchen We are preparing a bill for them for the time spent to block their email address and to clean up their spam from the lists. We've notified them that we will seek a small claims case if we are not paid since the FAQ clearly states that anyone who spams the lists will be billed for the cleanup.
