Tarnoff" Subject: FTE Pre61 - Bed Wood Refinish Looking at Effie yesterday and doing an evaluation of what it needs for next year it looks like the bed wood could stand some attention. Has anyone sanded and "patch finished" without taking the bed offing and doing a complete refinish? Any suggestions, I dont have a small army of assistance this winter and dont want to try to pull the bed off myself. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Nov 1999 10:56:19 EST From: MichellHC Subject: FTE Pre61 - Re: 55 F-100 Fuel Capacity Here is another solution to your fuel problem. Use a tank from a F-500 or larger 53 to 55 Ford truck. Those tanks were 20 gallon capacity. Why not go for the largest that will fit the space if you are going to change it anyway. I will list them by order of popularity (with Ford not necessarily with owners): Under the bed on a support that is horizontal to the frame rails hanging from clevis bolts (lots of fun to get the spare out). In the bed behind the passenger seat attached to the bed side by one bolt. On a mount out side the bed behind the drivers door with a indentation in the drivers side rear fender to make room for the tire. I like option three the best but have only seen two pictures of trucks this way one in book about trucks and one from a picture on the web site. I have never been able to locate the bracket to hold the tire. On my truck the spare was originally mounted in the bed as near as I can tell. When I get ready to repaint the truck I am going to make a mount for the side. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Nov 1999 21:51:30 EST From: VegmanOCF Subject: FTE Pre61 - Re: pre61-list-To Steve Delanty REPLY TO: Steve Delanty ~ thanks for sharing your knowledge. I know of several people who have built regulators off your plans; relatively easy to build, cheap, and work great.
