Tarnoff" Subject: FTE Pre61 - Garage Sale It is garage cleaning time here in New England. Got to make a path for the snowblower! I have an "outstanding" spare tire support with full hardware for the 55 F100. It was media blasted, primed with several coats of etching primer, and painted basecoat/clearcoat. After all that work I come to find the spare will not fit between the dual exhaust! $250 First come first served. Also have a mint intake manifold for the Y-block that is for the current motorcraft large throat 2BBL, with carb and oil bath. Same detailing as the Tire bracket. $200 complete. And how does this gauge system work from beginning to end. The truck had a new wiring harness install from the pervious owner. I found one wire that went to the tank was just tied to and not hooked up to a set of two wires. Has anyone done a swap to disc brakes that retains= the 8 bolt wheel on a F250 or F2. I do not want to do a clip or other = major surgery or lose the 8 bolts front and rear. I would appreciate any= info from someone that has done this. The truck is getting some major = drive train updates, but will remain mostly stock in exterior appearance. Mike, Congrats on finding the hubcaps! Dan. I pretty much had the identical experience with cap on a Mallory Unilite. I had just put together a new engine with a stock coil etc, and when it wasn't working well I saw that the spring loaded? center pin that goes up to the coil wire burnt to a crisp. It happened pretty much immediately as I recall. I took it to the local parts store and the guy had a bag of them. He wasn't surprised at all and took my name etc. He sold me a replacement Mallory cap and said I'd get a credit when the Mallory salesman? or whatever next came in his store. He thinks they're just oftened defective? That was about 7months and 6000 miles ago and the Mallory unilite has been working flawlessly to the best of my knowledge. I've bumped into other people who have had similar experiences with the caps--they just seem to go bad. I don't know why.
