Price was right as well. I did talk to someone here (Wash DC) who had his truck done by a mechanic and the old boy charged him $1500 to do it. Now, I will rewire F1's all day long for that kind of $$. This is not complicated-- just be sure to check, recheck and double check all of your connnections before firing up. I had 2 wires on the wrong terminal along with the wire through the inductive coupled ammeter going in the wrong direction-- allowing the ammeter to show a discharge when charging and a charge when discharging-- a polarity reversal error. Rerouted the cable-- no problem. Good luck. Just recieved my front and rear replacement panels for my 52 F-3. I am unsure of the right way to measure the old panel to make my cut. I don't want to cut too much metal off and have a short fender. Any of you guys that have done this before tell me how it's done? Thanks, Paul '52 F-3 == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Oct 1999 19:02:36 EDT From: HDMel95 Subject: FTE Pre61 - When is it still a Ford? Is it still a Ford? DARN TOOTIN' BETCHA!!!, but it is MY ford. "Mike" Michels Mike, I'm not sure what the answer is. The only thing of which I am sure is, I do have opinions. The same question gets asked in the medical field. When is Harry not Harry anymore? He has had a liver, heart, lung and two cornea transplants. Is he still Harry or does he became someone else? Maybe after 50% has been transplanted he is transformed. I don't know. My feeling is if Harry still answers to "Harry" he is Harry. Did you see this months issue of "Classic Truck?" There is Ford Flatbed with Chevy frame, engine and drive line. The only thing that is Ford, is the cab. Is it a Ford? It looks like a Ford. Don't know. Is it a Duck? About that widening on your rear window for the "Blind" spots. Myself being in grammar school in the late 50's also, I have noticed the blind spots getting bigger as I get older. I see some people turn their necks and look out their back windows without moving their shoulders. How do they do that? That is why I love driving my roadster. No blind spots. The nice thing about driving our "Beauties" is that most people are looking at our "Machines" so when we don't see them because of blind spots, it's ok. I really do think that is why there are so very few Classics/Rods involved in accidents. People are looking at our cars and running into someone else. Maybe we should tell our insurance companies about this theory. And lastly.....what Ford hubcaps fit the Corvette Rallye? I'm running Wheels Vintiques with beauty rims on my f100 now and 8" Rallyes on my El Camino. I have always thought the Vette Rallyes are the greatest looking wheel on Earth. I have an extra set of Rallyes but didn't know that there were any Ford caps that would fit. Keep up the good work Mike and yes you still have a Ford. Your Ford!!
