It looks like somebody tried to weld it and it's just reappeared. I'd like to replace it but Ford doesn't sell it anymore and there doesn't seem to be an aftermarket model available. Before I head for the junkyard I thought I'd see if anybody on the list knows of an aftermarket bracket or possibly has an extra one. I assume that the bracket from any 351/400 C or M would work. Btw, this is the large flat part that bolts to the water pump, not the arm. Contact me off the list if you've got an extra you'd like to sell. They were fairly easy to install, and work great. The tail gate also looks much better. After I removed the chains, which on mine were WELDED to the stake pockets(!?!), I filled all excess holes. Very clean look. Go for it is my opinion. While I'm here, I just put an Edelbrock Performer manifold on my 390, along with a new distributor (the old one came out in 3 pieces!). Now the engine hesitates, and pings under acceleration. Timing appears right on, no vacuum leaks found. Edelbrock says the carb should not need re-jetting. Does anyone here have any ideas that I've missed? By the way, Edelbrock 750 carb, about 2 months old, stock engine. Thanx!
