Use a dremmel or cut-off tool to cut a rectangular patch slightly larger than the rusted area where the running board meets the rear fender. Trace the opening you cut on to light cardboard (old cereal box) and cut it out so you have an exact pattern. Transfer the pattern to a piece of new sheet metal (or a straight piece off a junk body panel that you can get for free at most any body shop), and have it wire welded in place. Don't gas weld or braise it, you'll warp the fenders. He indicates that the ball joints and tie rod ends are the same size as the full size fords. Ford Enthusiast, The Ford 9 inch rear end was standard under F-100's/F-150's from 1957 until 1982 I believe. (1980 - 1982 or so F-100's had the Ford car lug....
