Can get it from any air conditioning or refrigeration supply house - comes in 3' x 4' sheets - cuts easily with GOOD scissors and can be glued in place with high temp latex spray adhesive (3M or similar). Try it and I think you'll be well satisified. No rust thru please!! I saw a pair of NOS 48 to 50 front fenders advertised in the last issue of Hemmings for $2500 (ouch!).....these babies are hard to find. I talked to someone at Dennis Carpenter and asked why no one was reproducing these, he told me the tooling would be very expensive and they would have to charge $1500 a piece(ouch! again). Maybe you should find one in decent shape and either repair it yourself or have it professionally done. (That's what I'm doing). Or then again you could check hemmings and pay for the NOS ones. Your call. I really hate to wait until Pigeon Forge in May to buy a lot of the parts that I need. I am just trying to save on the shipping charges for bed sides, tailgate, running boards and A/C unit. Thanks, Charlie cpowell == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 02 Sep 1999 11:49:44 -0400 From: Fred g 454 Subject: Re: FTE Pre61 - '49 front fender needed desperately! I have a 9"rearend with 3:00 gears in it and a C4 tranny. Two 94s, hi comp heads and a 3/4 cam and 75 or 80 on the hiway is no problem . I highly recomend this combo for a flathead. Getting to these speeds is pretty quick . ; == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of pre61-list-digest V3 #251 ******************************** +- Ford Truck Enthusiasts - 1948 - 1960 Trucks and vans --------------+....
