My switch is wired correctly and the heater frame is grounded. I still seem to be experiencing the "heater runs backwards" I think. The plenum shape indicates to me that the heater motor should run CCW when you're looking at it from the passenger seat and it runs clockwise. The reason I started on this escapade was I don't have any air volume coming out of the heater/defrost. It's a fresh air unit in a 55'. Anybody have their heater plenum off? I need to know which way the motor spins before I go any further. Thanks, Shane 55 F100 5.0 15.51 289 Pinto waiting patiently _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Aug 1999 08:15:21 -0700 From: Marilyn Boese Subject: FTE Pre61 - header coatings Fortunately for us, even though all day long we look at headers, we don't often have to look at mummy-wrapped headers. It's not a good idea and the best idea is metallic-ceramic thermally fused coating: also sometimes known by one brand name, Jet Hot. There are many competing companies now, and most do a good job. You can buy this coating in powder form from TechLine, but after reading all instructions and following carefully, I can only say that the thrill of doing it yourself is sometimes not worth it. We recommend professionally applied metallic-ceramic. If that is not an option (it will cost more than $100, I think, even in Alabama, and in California it will cost the most it seems), then I would suggest: 1) remove headers 2) remove wrap 3) verify integrity of headers 4) order Eastwood high heat exhaust coating (brush on) 5) clean, prep, (bead blast, etc) 6) apply They won't be beautiful, but we think they will hold up a lot longer than guaranteed to rust mild steel exposed to moisture both inside and out. If you look straight into the outlet duct, the fan blades would be moving toward you, not away from you... == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Aug 99 10:14 nzst From: Simon Subject: Re: FTE Pre61 - Peeling headers Here's another coating supplier.
