My '51 F3 was running fine...then it just quit as I was driving on the road. Pop the clutch and it would run a little more. I limped it home that way. Checking, the coil was HOT. Should it be? The higher (100+) octanes were formulated for fighter aircraft during WWII and became known as 'Avgas'. You can still buy 100 octane gas at the Terrible Herbst stations in Nevada.
