I was wandering a local junk yard this weekend and found what looks like =
a '56 dump truck and the cab, fenders, hood and grill from '46 or '47. =
The yard is in Sellersville, PA and I can provide more info if anyone is =
interested.

Good Luck

Truckers,

This may be a stupid question, but what does fender welting do and what does
it look like? I pulled some 1/2" square, dried up rubber off my 57's front

Jim, I am looking for 46-47 (42-47) Grille bars in very good condition.I
would be interested in calling the owner of the trucks/parts and discussing
this with him.
Thanks for the 'heads up', those of us in need of parts do appreciate it.

I have been told that optimum distance from your fan to rad should be
about one inch. More important is to have a fan shroud. This will aid
in the cooling process more than anything else.

I need to remove the Custom Cab emblems from my doors so I can prep them
for paint. What is the best way to do this? With my tri-focals I can just
about make out some circular clips holding the emblem on from the inside.
Also, how do I remove the horn button to pull the steering wheel? Almost
ready to roll here, and getting very excited!

the horn button button is screwed, just turn it counterclockwise and it
should come out.

Someone posted a message about an article on crate flatheads. Can't
find a copy of the magazine anywhere.

What is the deal on the crate flatheads? Who is selling them? What is
their address (and email), what is the price?

thanks

The magazine is the July 1999 Street Rodder. They're being sold by Flathead
Jack, 1561 3rd Ave, Dept SRM, Walnut Creek, CA 94596. (888)993-2233. No
e-mail. No price given in the magazine article.

Another place selling short blocks is Dennis Carpenter, P.O. Box 26398,
Charlotte, N.C. 28221-6398. 800-476-9653. He even has some "new" short
blocks 38-42 or 46-47 for $3000.

Other places where you can buy a Flathead built to your specs include Red's
Headers, Hot Rod & Custom Supply and Motor City Flathead.

I think you can get contact info on all of these at
http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://www.flatheads.net and look at the link for sponsors.
