Thanks for the response. If you do come across a unit let me know.

Subject: FTE Pre61 - '48 F1 Purchased - Questions

Need some Ford expertise. Just bought a nice F1 with flathead six last
week. It is in quite good shape. I have a line on a '79 Lincoln
Versailles with 9" rear with disks, auto and 302. Questions are:
1. What kind of auto trans would this car have
2. Is the driveline in the Lincoln a good way to go with the F1
3. Can I use the disk from the Versaille on the F1 if I keep the stock
axle
4. Any serious pitfalls with this car
I have always restored Mopars and Chevys. I like the late '40s-early
50's Fords and plan on making this truck very nice. Stock looking on
outside and interior with a beefed up drivetrain.

Answers or suggestions would be appreciated.

Clive,

I have an old magazine somewhere that has an article on ventilating drums. I
remember it stating that using the vented drums with new Kevlar linings will
stop as fast as discs. I read that after I sawed the front of my truck off
for my clip!! If you still want I can dig it up.
