And to those that don't celebrate this day, Season's Greetings. Regards, Ken Payne Admin == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Dec 1998 12:48:28 PST From: "Andy D" Subject: FTE Pre61 - Re: FTE Pre61 Bigtruck tranny I have 2 56 F-600's Both of them came from the factory (and still have) 272's (one with the light duty 2V and one with the heavy duty 4V carb) and 4 speed's in them. The big truck transmissions are very heavy and have the emergency brake between the trans yolk and the tranny (drive shaft brakes). As for it fitting the fork for the clutch on my 56 f-100 and my 56 f-600 are the same. The clutch linkage is too. I don't remember if the bellhousing to trans bolt pattern is the same I will have to get up to my parents house and look at my 100 again (so get the bellhousing too). 272's, 302's, and 332's have the same bellhousing bolt pattern. In short the transmission will work my came from the factory that way.
