I need a new tailgate, however I have a 52 F1-- don't think that they are compatible-- are they? Joebob - -----Original Message----- From: MARK AMES To: pre61-list Date: Saturday, December 12, 1998 1:01 AM Subject: FTE Pre61 - 3 speed Overdrive tranny I'm still looking for a 3 speed overdrive tranny for my 56 M100. Does anyone out there have one that they have pulled out and put a newer drive train in? Does anyone use one of these now? how is it? any problems? What is the top speed you can obtain, Im looking for something that can cruise down the highway at 70 MPH (that's the speed limit on our interstate highways here in North Dakota) What is the RPM of your motor and what gear ratio is your rear end. I believe that the stock overdrive came with around 4.11 gears I also have a 3.92 that I can use If I need a little more top end. Also I saw in a recent post people looking for parts, I have 5 parts trucks 4 56's and 1 55 and I've also have parts off of other trucks. I have 2 sets of dash trim for a 53-55, and some good bumpers and a really nice tailgate if someone is looking for these let me know. Also have a 52 Panel that I need to sell. I have pictures of it that I can E-mail if needed. 56Merc P.S. Anything related to 1956 Mercury trucks I'd be interested in purchaseing. =FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Dec 1998 16:59:54 -0500 From: Ken Payne Subject: FTE Pre61 - ADMIN: Chat addition Telnet chatting has been added in addition to Java chat. It works well. I don't know if it works with AOL because I don't have AOL to test with. Let me know if you have AOL and it doesn't work. The new chat server is pretty bullet proof. It's been running for a week without a problem and is still using only between 300-400k of memory and .002% CPU resources. The Telnet chat link is on the chat page. In addition to AOL users, anyone with older browsers, browsers without Java and some Macintosh browsers should now be able to chat via Telnet. For the curious, Telnet is a terminal interface for the Internet (what we used before browsers came along). Most computers have a Telnet client on them, just click our Telnet link and it should launch.
