Ken,

I had a 360 in a 61 F100, lots of room for the block. I used a engine
mount from a catalog, bolted it to the frame. I kept the 3sp, if I ever
do this again, I would use the automatic, the clutch linkage is a pain.
All the mounts (engine and tran.) can be bought aftermarket. You might
have to change the driveshaft. I had a two piece in a short box. It
worked until I got on it hard, destroyed the center bearing. If its a
short box with the auto, a one peice will work better.

Ken if you find a source for motor mounts please let me know. I'm looking for a set for a
68 390 but I'm keeping the 4spd.

I need a 223 for my 55' F-250. I received my ford shop manual yesterday
and could see from the pictures that what I have is not factory
original. The only difference I could find was the placement of the
fuel pump and oil filter. On the diagram, the oil filter was in front
of the fuel pump and my engine has the fuel pump in the front.

I would be willing to swap engines. Could someone give me an estimate
on price.

Thanks
Jason Piccola

It is a little known fact, but the Ford "FE" series engine is a direct bolt in replacement
for all Black & Decker toaster elements. The only engineering required is routing the
exhaust thru the kitchen wall, this is, of course, only a minor technical glitch to be
expected with a non OEM replacement.

I am still looking for the upper radiator pipe (from intake to radiator) for
my 55 F100. Someone offered to ship on but we have not received it as of
yet. We need this soon to wrap up the detailing project in time for the
World of Wheels show in Boston. I don't car about condition, we just need
it for the pattern.

Thanks in advance,
Howard

Is the reason I can't get into the Chat, even after registering, that my
browser (Netscape 2.0) doesn't support Java? If that's a dumb question,
I appologize but I have enough trouble understanding mechanical stuff,
to say nothing of electronic stuff.

Netscape through version 3.0 had bugs with the Java
implementation. 3.01 (or may its 3.1) corrected those
bugs. You'll also find that when you upgrade the
web site takes on a whole new look (you're missing
alot).

I have a 1953 F-100 that I saved from a field. I'm in the process of
tearing it down to the frame. I was looking to put in a Ford 9" rearend.
When I finally looked at the rearend I realized it was not stock. There is
a data plate with the following on it " WDM-AG OHC" on the top line and
the bottom line has "3.00 9 314A" can anyone tell me what this means or
can anyone point me to how to identify a rearend.

Thanks

As I mentioned earlier, NN 3.0 won't work either. I am reluctant to upgrade to the latest version because IO understand that netscape has built into the new rev. for it to send themselves a log of where you go on the net for their own purposes. Yuk. Does anyone know how we can get a newer version, but not the latest? Sorry for the off-topic, but perhaps relevant posting

Ken's message prompted me to check the specific rev#. I use 3.01 and it's broke.

3.1 fixed some major Java bugs. Its still available.

Not true. The latest release incorporates "smart browsing".
This is a feature that is better than any search engine I've
seen. Go to a site, click the "what's related" button and
it gives you a list of related sites. Of course, to do this,
it has to transmit information about the site you're on,
but it only does this if you click the button. Smart browsing
appeared in version 4.5. 4.0 is still available, as are all
other versions.

Think of the implications of what you're saying. If it where
true, then millions of people with Netscape 4.5 browsers would
bog down Netscape's servers completely and the entire net in
North America. People visit billions of sites per day, there
is no way any company could handle tracking this.

I need to correct the above line: 3.01 corrected
the Java problems. I've just verified that it
works.

Thanks for dispelling my fears from what I heard at a recent meeting. I think I will upgrade, however I am using 3.01 and continually verify that it doesn't work on my computer. Could it be that I am using a Mac implementation?
