Over the past several days, there have been postings on some of the groups containing inappropriate language. While my language in my personal life isn't always as clean as it should be, I maintain (and so does Keith Srb, admin of several of the lists) a standard on the lists so that they'll be appropriate for all audiences. I want to remind everyone that we have people from all walks of life and all age groups on our lists. Ford Truck Enthusiasts does not censor content nor moderate message activity. However, because we are a forum available to the public, we do have filters in place to reject emails containing certain words. Getting around these filters with ***, --- and other such characters defeats the purpose of the filters. While saying "I made an *ss of myself" is appropriate, using the "s" and "f" words is not. Although the TV networks don't have the highest standards, they do maintain some standards. So the rule of thumb is if they don't say it on afternoon TV (ie, when the kids are watching), then it doesn't belong on FTE. Has anyone done this type of installation. I will like to know measurements needed and any tips that may be helpful. Michelle, a member of this group, already sent me some pictures that will be helpful. Perhaps there is a reference video or magazine article that I may use. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Stauffer" Subject: FTE Pre61 - '54 F-100 air deflectors Fellow Ford Truckers: can anyone clarify this? I need a left sied air deflecter for my '54. I spoke to a guy at Midwest Early Ford in Ohio and bought a good used one. My body man says it doesn't fit. I looked and he is right. I need the kind that has the 2 little "flanges" or bends in them where the cross support rods go. I was sure that '54 and '55 air deflecters were identical. The Mid-Fifty catalogue shows them as being the same. He says '53 and'54 are identical and I must have had a '55 front end put on later or maybe my truck was made late in the production year and they used the cross support rods and the '55 air deflecters. Two Questions: #1. My truck was assembled at the Chester, PA plant on Aug 15th, 1954. Is this late in the production year and what were tjhe average production years for trucks '53-'56? #2. Is he right about the '54 air deflecters or am I? You '54 owners what do your deflecters look like and do you have the 2 suport rods?
