Car is man's true love. Many men have had love affairs with their cars (or trucks). Buster Mitchell of Knoxville, Tenn., wanted to make it official. Jilted by his girlfriend, Mitchell decided he wanted to marry his true love -- his 1996 Mustang GT. Mitchell, 28, didn't get very far before the clerk dashed his dreams. Only men and women can marry under Tennessee law, officials said. It was some time after he listed his fiancee's birthplace as Detroit, her father as Henry Ford and her blood type as 10-W-40 that his plans sputtered. "Well, in California they are doing same-sex marriages," he said. "Why can't we do the good ol' boy thing and marry our cars and trucks?" End of article. Hmmmmm. I wonder if there's a tax deduction in there somewhere? Searched in, out, under and beyond but still I'm not sure about the original color code T. I've checked under the dash and other places, even removed some parts that normally sit there until they rust off, to find out if my color (a brownish gold metallic) is the original one. I found out that under this color there is only a grey (zinc?) primer. Maybe they sandblasted the whole thing when they did the make-over.... It's a 56 custom cab with big-back-window and they've changed it to IFS and front-flip. I'm not planning to change it back to it's original color; just curious about that T code. Does anyone know what would be a good Donor vehicle? I currently have a tilt column out of a 80 Montecarlo, but it is 32" long. Something else, I bought a mallory fuel gauge for my 56 but when I installed it, it didn't work. I am sure the wires are wired correctly. I bought it new from a Super Speed Shop, but they closed and now I don't know where to buy a new fuel sender that will work with the gauge. I will appreciate any suggestions that will help me make this gauge work. Either contact Mallory about the sender, or if the paperwork with the gauge tells you the OHM range from full to empty, Sacramento Vintage Catalog has several different senders that work with different OHM's ratings. If its $35 for info that's in the Red Book, of course that wouldn't be worth it, but if they can give production code info, or weird color codes, that would be great. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info http://www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 07 Mar 1999 21:09:06 -0800 From: rmeier Subject: FTE Pre61 - List Miguel writes; "I just tought that we should make a list with all the names and locations of the members of this list so that we can contact each other and exchange information, etc." Miguel and others, I most strongly DISAGREE. What you say is true and would be desireable, but if this list is available to any of the members on the list it will certainly end up in the hands of commercial list sellers and I get enough spam without inviting more. Please rethink this.
